Every week, I put together a Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet for my subscribers that recommends players to consider adding either by spending waiver priority or blind bidding dollars, or simply waiting until waivers clear and scooping them up for free.
The following players are rostered in less than 50%—or near 50%—of Yahoo leagues. They are on this list because their recent usage—or injuries ahead of them—suggest they'll be fantasy relevant moving forward.
Obviously, keep your own league settings, rosters and needs in mind when choosing who to prioritize and whether or not you should spend priority on them, but these are common free agents that can provide a spark in week 12 or simply add depth to your roster.
Here are 11 players to consider adding from the week 13 waiver wire.
🏈 RB Zack Moss (49% rostered)
Jonathan Taylor injured his thumb and it sounds like his status moving forward is in doubt.
In 3 full games without Taylor earlier in the season, Zack Moss averaged 24 touches—including 2.7 targets and 2.0 catches—for 107.3 scrimmage yards and 16.7 PPR points per game.
Moss scored 20.7 PPR points in week two, 22.5 PPR points in week three, and 7 PPR points in week four.
He's easily the priority add this week and every bit worthy of spending waiver claim priority or blind bidding dollars IF he will be in your week 13 lineup.
🏈 TE Pat Freiermuth (49% rostered)
After totaling 14 targets, 9 catches, 60 yards and 27 PPR points in 5 games between weeks 1-11, Pat Freiermuth had 11 targets, 9 catches, 120 yards and 21 PPR points in week 12 alone, his first game out from underneath former Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada.
Muth's remaining schedule is tough against 3 top 12 defenses within the next 5 games, but 14 targets is nearly impossible to find for tight ends in fantasy football.
He should be more than 49% rostered at fantasy's most desperate position.
He's worthy of spending waiver claim priority or blind bidding dollars IF he will be in your week 13 lineup.
🏈 WR Josh Downs (58% rostered)
After 5 games with Gardner Minshew where Josh Downs played at least 15 offensive snaps, Downs has averaged 9.6 targets, 6.0 catches, 63.6 yards, 0.4 TDs and 14.8 PPR points per game.
Downs has a terrific week 13 matchup vs a Tennessee Titans defense that is allowing the 4th most catches, 7th most yards, 14th most TDs and 6th most PPR points per game to enemy WRs.
Downs is worthy of spending waiver claim priority or blind bidding dollars IF he will be in your starting lineup.
🏈 RB Roschon Johnson (23% rostered)
Roschon Johnson took over the Bears backfield in week 12, handling 15 touches—including an exciting 5 targets/catches—for 75 scoreless yards (12.5 PPR points) in Monday Night's win over the division rival Vikings.
Johnson out-touched (15 to 8), out-gained (75 yards to 38 yards) and out-scored (12.5 points to 5.8 points) incumbent RB 1 Khalil Herbert, making his claim for the RB 1A role moving forward.
Unfortunately, Johnson is on bye in week 13 and has some tough matchups coming up in the final 4 games, including the Lions (3rd fewest PPR points per game allowed to RBs), Browns (12th fewest) and Falcons (2nd fewest).
Still, if 15 touches—including heavy passing game usage—becomes the new norm, Johnson belongs on fantasy rosters.
Roschon Johnson is not someone I would spend waiver priority on in week 13, but he's someone I would try to add as an end-of-bench stash for free after waivers clear.
