Every week, I put together a Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet for my subscribers that recommends players to consider adding either by spending waiver priority or blind bidding dollars, or simply waiting until waivers clear and scooping them up for free.
The following players are rostered in less than 50%—or near 50%—of Yahoo leagues. They are on this list because their recent usage—or injuries ahead of them—suggest they'll be fantasy relevant moving forward.
Obviously, keep your own league settings, rosters and needs in mind when choosing who to prioritize and whether or not you should spend priority on them, but these are common free agents that can provide a spark in week 12 or simply add depth to your roster.
Here are 9 players to consider adding from the week 12 waiver wire.
🏈 RB Zach Charbonnet (44% rostered)
Dr. Kenneth Walker went down with a "legit" (per Pete Carroll) oblique strain in week 11 and never returned.
With Seattle turning around and already playing again on Thursday, Dr. Deepak Chona's initial estimate is that Kenneth Walker will not be ready to play.
Zach Charbonnet—an impressive 2nd round rookie from UCLA—figures to take over the lead back role for Thursday Night Football.
He'll have a difficult situation and matchup as underdogs vs a 49ers defense that is holding enemy RBs to the 2nd fewest touches, 2nd fewest rushing yards, 2nd fewest scrimmage yards, 12th fewest TDs and 12th fewest PPR points per game.
That said, San Francisco is allowing the 7th most RB catches and 13th most RB receiving yards in football, something Charbonnet is more than capable of exploiting, especially with Seattle entering this contest as underdogs.
It might be tough sledding, but if you're in need of volume at RB in week 12, Charbonnet should at least get his fair share of chances.
He's worthy of spending waiver claim priority or blind bidding dollars IF he will be in your week 12 lineup.
🏈 RB Ty Chandler (44% rostered)
Ty Chandler has handled 29 touches—including 4/4 targets/catches—over the last 2 games, gaining 155 scrimmage yards and 1 TD (25.5 PPR points).
He handled 14 touches in week 11 compared to 19 touches for a healthy Alexander Mattison, out-gaining Mattison 110 yards to 80 yards despite 5 fewer touches.
It's clear Chandler will be involved on offense from here on out, and with Mattison underwhelming, it's possible Chandler takes over lead back duties at some point down the stretch.
Chandler's week 12 matchup is a (mostly) good one vs a Bears defense that is allowing the 3rd most RB catches, most RB receiving yards, 12th most scrimmage yards, 7th most TDs and 7th most PPR points per game to enemy RBs.
Chandler is worthy of spending waiver claim priority or blind bidding dollars IF you're hurting at RB.
🏈 WR Odell Beckham (29% rostered)
Odell Beckham has come on strong a bit lately, garnering 16 targets, 10 catches, 212 yards, 2 TDs and 43.2 PPR points over the last 3 games combined, scoring 11+ PPR points in all 3 of them including 15-17 PPR points in 2 of the last 3.
Mark Andrews' absence will free up 6.6 targets per game that need to find new homes, something that certainly doesn't hurt Beckham's chances.
To top it all off, OBJ's week 12 situation and matchup is potentially mouthwatering in a possible shootout vs a Chargers defense that is bleeding the 10th most catches, 3rd most yards, 3rd most TDs and 2nd most PPR points per game to opposing WRs.
Beckham is worthy of spending waiver claim priority or blind bidding dollars IF you're hurting at WR.
