Players and Defenses to target for your fantasy football playoffs!

It's week 13! Hopefully you're cruising towards a playoff birth—if not, now's the time to subscribe to BBFF to avoid such pain in the future! 😉

While your league-mates battle for the last few playoff spots, it's time for you to start planning ahead.

With that in mind, I created a spreadsheet—you know I love me some spreadsheets—that provides QBs, RBs, WRs, TEs and DEFs to target according to their matchups for weeks 15, 16 and 17.

Each tab is sorted from top to bottom, starting with the worst defense against the position (aka the best matchup) at the top. For example, the Broncos, Texans and Bengals allow the most PPR points per game to tight ends, so the TE list starts with those teams at the top.

I wrote the names of players with the top 10 matchups at each position—on the right you'll notice I also wrote the players/teams that have more than 1 top 10 matchup—but I also left the team abbreviations in after the top 10 in case you find them helpful as well.

Here are a few key findings:

🏈 Russell Wilson has two top 5 matchups during the fantasy football playoffs (week 15 vs the Lions and week 17 vs the Chargers).

🏈 Brock Purdy has two top 7 matchups during the fantasy football playoffs, including the best possible matchup in the championship round (week 15 vs the Cardinals and week 17 vs the league-worst Commanders)

🏈 D'Andre Swift has three top 9 matchups—including two top 4 matchups—to close out the fantasy season. His Eagles are likely to be heavily favored against the Seahawks in week 15, the New York Giants in week 9, and the Arizona Cardinals in week 17. He *should* get all the volume he can handle, making him a great target for the playoffs.

By the way, if Kenneth Gainwell is available in your league, now is a great time to add him as an end-of-bench stash that will become a league-winner if anything happens to Swift.

🏈 Bijan Robinson has three top 10 matchups to close the fantasy football season, facing the Panthers in week 15, Colts in week 16, and Bears in week 17.

By the way, if Tyler Allgeier is available in your league, now is a great time to add him as an end-of-bench stash that can become a league-winner if anything happens to Robinson.

🏈 Austin Ekeler has two top 6 matchups, including the best possible matchup in the fantasy football championship (week 17) against the Denver Broncos. He has three top 12 matchups to close the year.

🏈 Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy close the fantasy football season with three straight top 9 matchups against the Detroit Lions (week 15), New England Patriots (week 16) and Los Angeles Chargers (week 17).

🏈 DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett (and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, I guess) have two top 6 matchups against the Philadelphia Eagles in week 15 and Tennessee Titans in week 16 before a top 13 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 17.

🏈 Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua have two top 5 matchups against the Washington Commanders in week 15 and the New York Giants in week 17.

🏈 Likewise, Chris Olave and Saints WRs have two top 5 matchups against the New York Giants in week 15 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week 17.

🏈 Tank Dell and Nico Collins have two top 6 matchups, both with the Titans, in week 15 and week 17.

🏈 Zay Flowers and Odell Beckham (and Rashod Bateman, I guess) have 3 top 11 matchups to close the season.

🏈 David Njoku has two top 6 matchups during the fantasy football playoffs (week 15 vs the Bears and week 16 vs the Texans).

🏈 The Kansas City Chiefs defense has three top 8 matchups vs the New England Patriots in week 15, Las Vegas Raiders in week 16, and Cincinnati Bengals in week 17.

🏈 The Houston Texans defense has three top 9 matchups vs Tennessee Titans in both weeks 15 and 17, sandwiching the Cleveland Browns in between.
