For those of you new to fantasy football, or if you are just looking for a new strategy, “Streaming” is the idea of selecting somebody from the Free Agent pool or waiver wire based on favorable matchups. This strategy is particularly effective if you failed to draft an elite player at QB, TE, or DEF.
The NFL changes quite a bit from week to week and year to year, I will try to help alleviate your concerns and focus on players that I would try and stream. This year more than ever (Thanks, COVID) will be difficult to Stream. Most leagues have expanded rosters, so this year, I will be looking at only players who are available in UNDER 50% of Yahoo leagues. All options may not be available in your specific league.
Week 14 was an interesting one, to say the least. We still brought the goodness as Philip Rivers finished as a stream-able option with 19.76 fantasy points, good enough for the QB14 finish. Logan Thomas was also stream-able as the TE15 with 7.3 fantasy points, and Cole Kmet finished with 6.1 fantasy points. The 6.1 points did not lose you your week, but had the TD gone to him instead of Jimmy Graham, Kmet is looking at the TE5 on the week. The Washington Football team brought the noise with 23 fantasy points and finished as the 3rd best Defensive unit on the week. Check out who’s going to vault you into the Fantasy Football Championship!

This Week's Streaming Beer of Choice:
The energy and audacity of the fixed gear courier inspired us to create Fixed Gear™, a big, bold American Red IPA.
Quarterback
Derek Carr vs LAC, 47% owned
Carr has had 2 straight great games with 30+ fantasy points after a dud. The Chargers Defense is not an imposing unit. As long as his offensive line can keep the pressure rate down, Carr should be in line for another great game on Thursday.
Baker Mayfield @ NYG, 42% owned
Everyone saw Baker’s game on Monday, and he looked every bit the Heisman winner he was drafted as. The Giants are not a pushover, but they are a softer matchup than the Ravens. With help from the run game opening the offense up, Baker could be in line for another solid game
Jalen Hurts @ AZ, 18% owned
Another cheat code for Fantasy Football, Hurts ran the ball for over 100yds last week. I don’t expect another 100-yard game, but the rushing floor certainly does help if you need a safe streamer in the playoffs.
Tight End
Jordan Reed @ DAL, 23% owned
Volume is key at the Tight End position for Fantasy Football. Reed has seen 5+ targets in 3 of his last 4 games. An incredibly soft matchup, a meeting with Dallas could be what Reed needs in order to find the end zone.
Cole Kmet @ MIN, 6% owned
As I mentioned in the recap, Jimmy Graham stole a top-12 finish from Kmet’s grasp with his touchdown. Kmet’s had 7 targets in back-to-back games and has solidified himself as the TE1 for the Bears. He just needs to get the same trust in the Red Zone.
Dan Arnold vs PHI, 1% owned
Hey Arnold! He has 4 TD’s in the Cardinals' last 4 games, and over the middle of the field is where you can easily attack the Eagles. Their secondary could be missing a few pieces as well, making the matchup all that much more enticing.
Defense/Special Teams
New England @ MIA, 48% owned
With 6 sacks and 4 turnovers in their last 4 games, the Patriots are playing pretty solid defense. Getting to go up against a rookie Quarterback, Bill Belichick is licking his chops. Watch for the Patriots to capitalize off some of Tua's mistakes.
Minnesota vs CHI, 46% owned
Any defense against Mitchell Trubisky is a viable streamer. We have seen flashes of greatness from Trubisky, but we have also seen him look like the league’s worst QB. Time will tell which version we see this week.
Tennessee vs DET, 38% owned
The Titans have really underperformed on the defensive side of the ball this year. Matthew Stafford is looking doubtful, so their matchup gets a lot easier against a backup Quarterback. The team has talent, they just need to show it on the field.
Stay tuned next week to see the results from all the players mentioned above, as well as my streamers for next week. Follow me on Twitter for more updates and insight @jjgosh
