Field of Streams - Week 12

For those of you new to fantasy football, or if you are just looking for a new strategy, “Streaming” is the idea of selecting somebody from the Free Agent pool or waiver wire based on favorable matchups. This strategy is particularly effective if you failed to draft an elite player at QB, TE, or DEF.

The NFL changes quite a bit from week to week and year to year, I will try to help alleviate your concerns and focus on players that I would try and stream. This year more than ever (Thanks, COVID) will be difficult to Stream. Most leagues have expanded rosters, so this year, I will be looking at only players who are available in UNDER 50% of Yahoo leagues. All options may not be available in your specific league.

Week 11 supplied plenty of fantastic streaming options. Kirk Cousins finished with 31.04 fantasy points, good enough for the 4th best Quarterback performance of the week. Jameis didn’t get the start, but at very low ownership, Taysom Hill finished as the QB10 with 24 fantasy points. Dalton Schultz came through as the 10th best Tight End option for the week with 10.50 fantasy points including the necessary touchdown. Defense and Special teams was on fire yet again with all 3 teams finishing in the top-7. Cleveland turned in 20 fantasy points to finish as the 2nd best option, the Washington Football Team finished as the 5th best DST with 14 fantasy points, and the Chargers got to the Jets for 10 fantasy points as the 7th best DST on the week. This Week's Streaming Beer of Choice: Unbridled Enthusiasm, Third Space Brewing

Unbridled Enthusiasm is a Juicy Double IPA bursting with intense hop aromas and flavors of passion fruit, guava, pineapple, and grapefruit. The bold hop flavors from our unique hopping methods are balanced with a clean bitterness that makes this hoppy delight extremely drinkable.

Quarterback

Taysom Hill @ DEN, 43% owned

He was pretty solid last week against a soft Falcons defense. He didn’t throw for a single touchdown but still managed to finish as a top-12 option last week. Denver is a slightly tougher test, but with an extra week of reps, I think Taysom can rush his way into the top-12 yet again.

Derek Carr @ ATL, 36% owned

Carr and the Raiders must love playing the Chiefs, 2 of his best performances of the year came against Kansas City. Though the matchup against Atlanta is much better, with the Falcons yielding points to virtually everyone at every position. I expect another good game from Carr.

Philip Rivers vs TEN, 26% owned

Rivers had a great game against the Packers, he’s had 300 yards and/or multiple touchdowns in 4 of his last 5, including 308yds and 1 touchdown against these very Titans. Looking like a pretty formidable offense, the Colts could have another good week against a relatively weak defensive unit.

Tight End

Robert Tonyan vs CHI, 46% owned

Big Bob had a solid performance against the Colts last week which has been one of the better units at stopping opposing Tight Ends. He gets a softer matchup this week against the Bears who aren’t the stout defensive unit we’ve come to expect from them. With enough volume, he should be able to have another solid game.

Jordan Reed @ LAR, 24% owned

Reed caught 5 of his 6 targets in his last full healthy game. The way to beat the Rams is over the middle of the field, so I expect Reed to see a lot of volume in this one. With a solid catch rate, he should be able to be a volume-based option with a chance for a TD.

Jacob Hollister @ PHI, 0% owned

Some weeks Hollister appears to be the 3rd Tight End, however, with Greg Olsen likely done for the year, he should be in line for more opportunities. He gets a matchup with Philly, who’s been one of the best possible matchups for opposing Tight Ends.

Defense/Special Teams

Seattle Seahawks @ PHI, 27% owned

The Legion of Boom isn’t walking through the door, but Carson Wentz looks particularly horrific of late. Their patchwork offensive line should yield some pressure opportunities to Seattle’s Front-Seven which should force Wentz into some mistakes. The Seahawks just need to capitalize.

New York Giants @ CIN, 12% owned

Joe Burrow is out for the year, their O-line is in shambles, and they are on their 3rd String Quarterback. The Giants have looked a little better lately, but they could look amazing against the undermanned Bengals offense.

Green Bay Packers vs CHI, 33% owned

As of now, the Bears aren’t even sure who their Quarterback will be. With injuries across their O-Line as well, the Smith Brothers could force Trubisky/Foles into plenty of mistakes. With a healthier defensive backfield, that could be huge for the Packers looking to rebound from a loss to the Colts.

Stay tuned next week to see the results from all the players mentioned above, as well as my streamers for next week. Follow me on Twitter for more updates and insight @jjgosh
